The results are in: Team Bili @ The 2018 SF Marathon!
Team Bili hit the streets for the second time this year on July 29th, participating in The San Francisco Marathon! We had an amazing team of runners/walkers participaing in the 5k and 1/2 marathon.
The Bili Project Foundation was honored to have the doctors of UCSF as part of Team Bili. These outstanding ladies did quite well! GI Oncologist at UCSF and VA medical center, Dr. Carling Ursem, was 18th overall (out of 2939 ladies who ran the 1st half) and 4th in her age group! Dr. Katie Kelley of UCSF won her age group and was 19th overall coming in right behind Dr. Carling. Another team member, breast Oncologist at UCSF, Dr. Michelle Melisko, was 115th overall and 4th in her age group! Many of our other runner finished the 1/2 marathon in under 2 hours too!
During the 5k our youngest Bili supporters – 5 year old twins Sage and Savannah Searle finished 2nd and 3rd in their age group with times of 47.5 minutes in the 5k.
Team Bili raised a total of $5,345.00 for the foundation!
A shout out to our top fundraising team members: Kelly Bonner who raised $725.00, Kelly Bauer who raised $551.00, Ariceli Alfaro who raised $426.00 and Malori Mindo who raised $375.00.
Thank you everyone for your support. Money raised goes towards continuing to find treatment options and early detection methods for this fast acting group of cancers!
