An Event to Remember!

The Bili Project Foundation 2014 Sonoma Bili Project Experience was a tremendous success in raising funds to support UCSF’s Hepatobiliary Cancer Research Program.  Guests of the event were treated to a VIP evening hosted by Cedric “The Entertainer” at the historic General’s Daughter located in Sonoma, California.  The event included a plated dinner created by the culinary team at the nationally acclaimed Ramekins Culinary School, live and silent auctions, dancing and an evening socializing with celebrity entertainers and athletes.

bili_4Our guests had the extraordinary opportunity to hear from two very brave and inspiring individuals battling Hepatobiliary cancers, both of whom gave very heartfelt and moving first-hand accounts of living with and battling these diseases.  The Bili Project foundation was truly honored to host these two individuals who are a true inspiration for all of us to stay strong and remain positive in the face of adversity.

Dr. Robert Kerlan of UCSF attended our event and presented the extraordinary and cutting-edge research being conducted across the country in Hepatobiliary cancer research.  UCSF’s collaboration with other leading institutions to find early detection and treatment options for those suffering from Hepatobiliary cancers has been instrumental in the path to potential groundbreaking research and discoveries.  The Bili Project Foundation is honored to have Dr. Kerlan and UCSF as part of Team Bili.

bili_3The Bili Project Foundation had the privilege of hosting Marion Schwartz, Board Member and Chief Research Advocate of The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, as both a guest and speaker at our event.  Marion presented important updates in research advocacy across the country to our guests.  The Bili Project Foundation and The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation have collaborated in their joint efforts to support the institutions’ research of Cholangiocarcinoma.

Excitingly, The Bili Project Foundation has created a video documenting the motivation behind The Bili project Foundation, which was debuted at the event.  The video will be released on our website soon!

The following day selected donors and VIP guests enjoyed a private experience at the exclusive and private Sonoma Golf Club, including a celebrity golf outing benefiting The Bili Project Foundation and UCSF’s Hepatobiliary Cancer Research Program.

The Bili Project Foundation is committed to our mission of reducing the incidence and improving the outcome of Hepatobiliary cancers.  To continue this fight, The Bili Project Foundation is proud to be a participating charity in the upcoming 2015 ASICS LA Marathon.  Team Bili will be participating in the LA 5K and LA marathon to continue raising awareness of Hepatobiliary cancers.  We look forward to your support as we race for future research!
